Mendieta, Jose Ramon Alonso and Luis Ferreiro; and Basque nationalists Ramon de Belausteguigoitia, Pedro de Basaldua and Domingo Arruti. In the first part of the dissertation I investigate the connections between femininities and nationalism, studying in each chapter a key feminine figure in war narratives: the mother, the girlfriend or fiancee and the nurse.
