215 p.Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2001.The 2001 Faculty Socialization Questionnaire ( FSQ) was used to analyze and compare the perceptions of junior faculty of color and their non-minority colleagues based on select variables. The study also investigated qualitatively the perceptions of their day-to-day experiences with their colleagues in their departments, what it was like to be a junior faculty, how they were learning to do their jobs, and their contributions to the core mission of their departments.
