Sexting is a relatively recent phenomenon that involves the sending, receiving and sharing of sexually explicit photos through cell phone messages and online social media platforms (Chalfen, 2009; Lenhart, 2009; Ringrose et al., 2012). Research has demonstrated that some youth are engaging in sexting and that this behaviour affects schools and school professionals.
