Background: Individuals with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) often have lower intelligence than that of the general population. Furthermore, the prevalence of cognitive impairment, epilepsy, autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are higher in DMD patients.
