this paper investigates the feasibility of applying alarge-scale hybrid wind/PV renewable energy system in Jordan.An area called Ras Elnaqab is chosen because it enjoys bothhighest average wind speed of 6.13 m/s and highest solarradiation of 5.93 KWH/m^2/day solar insolation. MATLABand Hybrid Optimization Model for sizing and economicalanalysis respectively. Results show 76124 SUNTECH PV panelsand 38 GW87-1.5MW wind turbines are the optimal choice forthat area. The net present cost (NPC) is 130,115,936$, the cost ofenergy (COE) is 0.049$/KWhr with a renewable fraction of74.1%.
