: The Enrichment of Superintendents Bullion and Bouthillier

International audienceIn the kingdom of France, the superintendents of the finances Claude Bouthillier and Claude de Bullion exercise their office jointly between 1632 and 1640. The service of the State favors their personal enrichment. But while they have equivalent functions, one on the revenue side and the other on the spending side, the two finance superintendents are not getting rich at the same pace.This article presents the comparative situation of the two ministers from the social and financial point of view and tries to understand how Superintendent Bullion has enriched himself more than his colleague Bouthillier.Les surintendants des finances du royaume de France Claude Bouthillier et Claude de Bullion exercent leurs charges conjointement entre 1632 et 1640.
