International audienceInteractions in mammalian communities, which coexist within the same ecosystems, are well-know all along the Quaternary. Evidences of these relations between fauna (taphonomy sensu lato), including both predator-prey (e.g., hunting, scavenging) and predator-predator (e.g., competition) interactions, are regularly found in archaeological and palaeontological assemblages. Evolving in the same ecosystem, predator guilds are frequently in competition for food and habitat access. Within fossil samples, these competition phenomena are revealed by diverse aspects : bone surface modifications (e.g., tooth marks), bone morphotypes and bioglyphes (e.g., coprolithes).
