Les Considérations Sociaux‐Culturelles pour l’introduction du Vaccin et l’Engagement Communautaire

This brief summarises key socio-cultural issues related to the introduction of vaccine (rVSV‐ZEBOV) to the DRC in relation to the Ebola outbreak, May 2018. A deeper dive should be undertaken, but given the imminent introduction of the vaccine, conveying key considerations and immediate recommendations, particularly for community engagement, has been prioritised. Informal discussions have been held with colleagues from WHO, UNICEF, University of Sussex, University of Edinburgh, Institut de Recherche pour le Développment, Réseau Anthropologie des Epidémies Emergentes, Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Institut Pasteur and others, but responsibility for this brief lies with Anthrologica.Ce dossier résume les problèmes sociaux-culturels clés, liés à l’introduction du vaccin (sVSV-­ZEBOV) en RDC concernant la flambée épidémique d’Ébola en mai 2018. Nous devrions en parler davantage, mais étant donné l'introduction imminente du vaccin, la priorité a été accordée à la transmission des considérations clés et des recommandations immédiates, en particulier pour l'engagement communautaire. Des discussions informelles se sont tenues avec des collègues de l’OMS, l’UNICEF, l’Université de Sussex, l’Université d’Édimbourg, l’Institut de Recherche pour le Développement, le Réseau Anthropologie des Épidémies Émergentes, le Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform, la London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medecine, l’institut Pasteur et d’autres organisations, mais la responsabilité de ce dossier revient à Anthrologica
