We made this book in close collaboration with artist Katrin Kamrau. It contains a selection of technical drawings from Katrin’s collection of amateur photographer’s handbooks. The books were published in the Netherlands and Belgium between 1926 and 2002. Katrin is fascinated mainly by the choice of objects being photographed, and the way this influences the graphic design of the books. The drawings are enlarged so as to fit the format of a coloring book. In this manner, the book exposes power relations and role models in our contemporary society, and the way printing mirrors these stereotypes.status: publishe
