This presentation will focus on the preliminary results of an ongoing study about legal mobilization and Title IX. Legal mobilization refers to the process of activists and policy advocates using law to achieve social change. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) and several related laws have been used to regulate how universities respond to campus sexual violence for at least the past 30 years. This presentation details the goals of activists and policy advocates hoping to change campus approaches to sexual violence using Title IX.
