Launching Girder is an equipment extensively used in the prefabricated segmental construction of viaducts. It is used to lift, assemble, post-tension and load the spans of bridges constructed using the incremental/auto launching method. Although automation of launching girder has many advantages such as improved construction efficiency, reduction in accidents, smooth operation, etc., currently, there is limited automation in the operation of launching girders worldwide.
