Time delays are common to many systems often caused by communication lag, material transport, delayed sensing etc. Time delay causes instability and generally, it is hard to control. In addition, integrating plus time delay process requires special care for stabilization. In this work, two design methods are adopted to achieve stability with good performance. In first case, a PID controller is designed for an integrating plus time delay process. A PID controller is known for its design simplicity, and it has universal acceptance in the industries.
