This thesis addresses the performance optimization of discrete manufacturing systems. The case of cyclic production is considered. It has been proved that it is always possible to use event graphs to modelize this type of systems. When manufacturing times are deterministic, the purpose is to maximize the productivity while minimizing the number of transportation resources. In terms of event graphs, the problem consists of reaching a given cycle time while minimizing a linear combination of the markings, the coefficients of this combination being the components of a p-invariant.
