After having introduced the theoretical/clinical research project by a historical backdrop of resilience and the proposition of a conceptual framework, the author attempts to refine and formalize the processes at play in resilience, based on psychoanalytical, theoretical referents. She centres her work on the four modalities liable to ensure a function of protection against adversity, while considering internal factors : The role of the defences of the Self, the richness of the Imagination, the quality of mentalization, and an external factor : The "resilience tutor".
