Emergencies disrupting urban transportation systems cause management problems for authorities. This thesis develops simulation methods that permit analysis thereof and evaluation of candidate management plans, tested in three case studies. It formulates a methodological framework using agent-based choice models and multimodal macroscopic dynamic network loading models, and develops extensions of the Link Transmission Model to deal with more complex and variable fundamental diagrams and initially non-empty roads.TRAIL Thesis Series no.
