The paper considers ecological, economic peculiarities of starting-up.- shutdown conditions of thermal power stations and their influence on the indices of equipment operational reliability. It is shown that selection of optimum starting-up - shutdown conditions requires their joint investigation, in other words, it is necessary to develop a multi-criterion model
