Cuantificación del fitoestrógeno Naringenina en jugos de pomelo y naranja comercializados en Argentina

Las plantas contienen un gran número de compuestos importantes por su valor nutricional y/o farmacológico. Entre esos últimos compuestos, algunos flavonoides tienen actividad estrogénica. En este trabajo se informa la cuantificación de la naringenina contenida en diferentes jugos y preparaciones comerciales de pomelo y naranja. Se utilizó un método por HPLC simple e isocrático y todas las muestras fueron hidrolizadas previamente a su cuantificación. Los valores detectados son farmacológicamente significativos.Plants contain a large number of compounds that have nutritional and/or pharmacological value. Among them, some flavonoids have shown properties similar to the natural hormone, estrogen. These phytoestrogens such as naringenin, are present in pharmacologically significant concentrations in some food such as grapefruit and orange juice. In this work the results of the quantitation of this flavanone (naringenin) in different commercial grapefruit and orange juices or preparations of grapefruit and orange juices is reported. All samples were hydrolised and their naringenin content quantified using a simple, isocratic reversed-phase HFLC method.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire
