Double Degree in Economics from the NOVA - School of Business and Economics and InsperThis dissertation explores the socioeconomic determinants of happiness for Argentinians, Brazilians, Chileans and Mexicans, and analyzes its evolution over the years and between these countries. The analysis in this dissertation is based on the World Value Survey waves 2, 3 and 5. With this data it was possible to analyze and compare the determinants that are most relevant for these populations to self-declare themselves as happy. Determinants such as social class, education, employment, among others, showed significance in some years for some populations and were found not significant for others.
