RESTAPIA 2012 - Int. Conf. on Rammed Earth Conservation, Valencia, 21-23 June 2012This article analyzes differences recorded in the construction and ageing of experimental rammed earth walls. After 10-12 years of exposure some superficial degradation was observed in some walls, pointing to the necessity of applying a compatible surface protection. The behavior of samples of the rammed earth similar to those used in the walls is also analyzed in terms of density, thermal conductivity, capillary ab-sorption and drying.
