The radiographic healing patterns of partial cortical ulnar defects receiving different volumes of fresh autogenous cancellous bone graft (ACBG) were compared. Histological sections taken at 8 weeks after ACBG transplantation were planimetrically evaluated for area of total bone, lamellar bone, and woven bone.Nongrafted defects and defects receiving 0.1g of ACBG displayed similar healing trends to each other. Bone production showed maximum increment between 2 and 6 weeks postoperatively. Defects receiving 0.3g and 0.75g of ACBG displayed similar healing trends, with rapid initial bone production and slower bony ingrowth occurring 3-4 weeks postoperatively.
