In this article, we propose an analysis of the computational constraints that are imposed on the design and the implementation of computer-based learning environments for proofs in geometry, and an analysis of the negotiation of these constraints by the students during their activities in such interactive environments. For this purpose we have divided the article into three parts. The first presents an analysis of a problem-situation. The second describes an analysis of three computer programs -each program is first presented and then analysed from the point of view of the constraints it may impose on a solution.
