The work carried out concerns the development and characterization of new high deformation titanium alloys, combining TRIP (Transformation Induced Plasticity) and TWIP (Twinning Induced Plasticity) effects. They are part of the search for more economical technologies in terms of energy costs, requiring in particular the development of lightweight and efficient structural materials with exceptional strength, toughness and ductility. We first used a semi-empirical approach, combining theoretical calculations and experimental data, as a method for designing these new alloys. Based on electronic parameters, this approach makes it possible to control the degree of stability of the β phase of titanium. This metallurgy, called combinatorial metall...
