The cerebellum plays an essential role in motor learning, namely acquisition of new motor skills, maintenance and improvement of the acquired motor performances throughout lifetime. These different motor control are processed in different cerebellar area. The primary mechanisms underlying those motor control and learning, however, are considered as the same due to that the cerebellar neuronal network has uniform network architecture: organized by two types of afferent fiber inputs and five main types of neuronal cells.
