<p>This article is the result of theoretical reflections and empirical research and investigates the dynamics between two factors that are currently considered inductors of entrepreneurial activity: necessity and opportunity, on the other. Its theoretical basis stems from the literature available on entrepreneurial motivations. Its empirical evidence derives from a qualitative field survey carried out with two successful entrepreneurs who rose from lower socio-economic backgrounds and who live in the County of Belo Horizonte.
