The article contains a brief overview of the symphony creation of Viktor Simonov realized on the eve of the composer’s 80th anniversary, who worked in Moldova in the period between 1975 and 1991 and after moving to Moscow he kept up his membership of the Union of Composers and Musicologists of the Republic of Moldova. By now, large orchestral works in his portfolio are represented by ten instrumental concertos and seven symphonies. Some of these creations were performed in Chisinau, Tiraspol and Moscow, where, in the recent years, his music has been included in the programs of the International Festival „Moscow Autumn”
