Most of the current cities in Pernambuco countryside was constituted through the mixed flows of settlers, but mainly from the relationship between those settlers and the existing indians`village. In the zone known as Agreste Pernambucano, there is a city called Águas Belas, where we can track the trades between Indians and non-Indians in the settlement and understand the development of the place from in the end of the XVIIIth century and along the XIXth century. The focus of this article is to bring a discussion about the formation of this city, giving attention to the indigenous participation in the local daily life through the relations of conflict and alliance developed with the non-Indians.
