Evaluating the 6360 Metropolitan Municipalities Act Regarding Sustainable Mountain Areas Administration

A significant part mountainous areas in Turkey, with a mountainous area, sustainable management in recent years has become a topic that is raised. In particular the Council of Europe, which is still subject to work with, that is the result of some experiences about "mountains and mountainous areas" in Turkey. For the fields that local-level, holistic policies and governance axis must be applied to an expression is performed. One of the most important factors of sustainable montainous areas development is local governments. One of the important components of Local government reform which began after 2000 in Turkey, a law No. 6360 that came into force in 2012. With the last regulation, special provincial administrations were removed from Metropolitan Municipalities and Investment,Monitoring and Coordination Directorates’ newly established, villages and cities were turned into neighborhoods by the Law No. 6360. A big part of the Turkey, especially mountainous areas in Turkey affected from these changes. Main purpose of the study is, by putting a basic characteristics of changing Metropolitan Municipalities as a one of the dynamics of Administration Around Mountainous Areas and examine the process of the sustainable development in these areas by the changes
