Vakfiyelere Göre Vâkıf, Bâni, Binâ Unvan ve Sıfatları / Titles Of Waqfs, Founders And Structures According To Deeds Of Foundation

A waqf which has left its mark on for centuries is a private institution constituted solely for the benefit of God, for the benefit of people and even other livings.Deeds of foundation which documents the existence of these institutions juristically and which have the characteristics of cultural property in need of protection presents a rich accretion that could be a resource in almost all areas in terms of different disciplines. In a spiritual dimension, with the waqf he founded, the human, the most important element this structuring process, carries the modesty of the worship for only getting close to God. Besides, because of the service he has done on a physical dimension, he simply personify himself, the structures he has found, architectural elements and even the places with good compliments and epithets. We witness that structures, defined as flowing and charities in the foundation terminology are associated with quite different names which are new to us except for what is already known.For this reason, in this study, deeds of foundations including 13th-19th centuries have been selected as examplesfrom the archives of Directorateof General Foundations.The definitions and names of these waqfs, founders and structures (religious, military, civilian architecture) that have not been addressed until today are described in this terminology.Thus, a different point of view has been tried to be brought to the deeds of foundation in terms of Art History.Firstly, sultans who are the big founders, sultanas and the other founders of waqfs have been discussed. Later, under head of “Structures”, general introduction and title of the structures have been explained. Then, they have been individually discussed under the headings of religious, military, civilian, etc. architecture. Bu kurumların varlıklarını hukuki olarak belgeleyen ve kendileri de korunması gerekli kültür varlığı niteliğinde olan vakfiyeler ise farklı disiplinler açısından ele alındığında hemen hemen her alana kaynaklık edebilecek zengin bir birikim sunarlar. Bu yapılaşma sürecinin en önemli unsuru olan insan, kurduğu vakıfla ruhâni boyutta, sadece Allah’a kurbiyet (yakınlaşmak) için yaptığı ibadetin mütevazılığını taşır. Ayrıca insan cismanî boyutta yaptığı hizmet nedeniyle kendisini ve bânisi olduğu binaları, mimârî ögeleri, hatta mekânları, güzel iltifat ve sıfatlarla adeta kişileştirir. Vakıf terminolojisinde akar ve hayrat şeklinde tanımlanan bu yapıların, bilinenin dışında bizim için yeni, oldukça farklı isimlerle anıldıklarına şahit oluruz. Bu çalışmada Vakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü Arşivi’nde bulunan 13 ve 19. yüzyıllar arasını kapsayan vakfiyelerden örnekler seçilmiştir. Bugüne kadar ele alınmayan vâkıf-bâni ve binaların (dini, askeri, sivil mimari) bu terminolojideki tanım ve adları ortaya konularak vakfiyelere Sanat Tarihi açısından farklı bir bakış açısı getirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Öncelikle büyük bâniler olan sultanlar, hanım sultan ve diğer vâkıf bânileri ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra binalar başlığı altında binaların genel anlamda tanıtım ve sıfatları ele alınmış, ardından da dinî, askeri, sivil mimari (eğitim, sağlık,vb), tek tek başlıklar halinde açıklanmıştır.
