OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the method of removal placenta on obstetric bleeding during cesarean section. Study design: 167 pregnant patients who were applied to Baskent University Konya Research and Education Center between August 2004 and June 2005, were seperated into two groups according to the removal method of placenta: manually or spontaneously. Preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin and hematocrit (Hb-Hct) values were analyzed. RESULTS: The demographic parameters were similar in both groups and preoperative Hb-Hct values and the postoperative changes of percentages were also similar in two groups. CONCLUSION: The removal method of placenta at cesarean delivery does not affect the perioperative blood loss
