International audienceAmong the first centuries Christian literature attention is paid to monastic literature, especially the apophtegms, which presents an other world, the desert, on the borders of dream, myth and spirituality, and suggests comparisons with utopic literature.This article suggests examining the relationship between the ancient Christian desert, such as is told in these narratives, and the literary genre of the utopia, to see if the literature of the desert comes from it, or joins it entirely, or renews it, or distorts it.
