The Central Asia and South Caucasus region for the Global Philanthropy Environment Index includes seven of the economies that were part of the Soviet Union before its disintegration in late 1991. These economies are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Russia
