This report uses a budget standards methodology to identify the costs of raising children in foster care. The methodology operates by identifying a basket of goods and services required to meet particular standards of living and costing that basket. The research was conducted by updated and varying past research by the author to take account of the particular circumstances of caring for children in foster care at different age levels, and the geographical location of and pricing in Western Australia
