Small cell carcinoma of the cervix is an uncommon aggressive variety of cervical cancer. Between 1982 and 1993, eight cases of this disease were diagnosed at the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer among 1586 cervical cancers. Treatment results have been poor with one longterm survivor. Literature review suggests that aggressive chemotherapy combined with surgery and/or radiotherapy may improve survival
