Two techniques of remote acquisition differ by their effectiveness and the quality of the produced data: photogrammetry and laser scanning. These two techniques depend on optical principles: what cannot be seen cannot be measured. The combination of these techniques can improve the data quality, but unmeasured zones always remain, therefore cannot be represented.
