International audienceThis article analyzes the cereals’ storage in the Vesuvius country villae rusticae, destroyed by the eruption in 79 AD. A synthetic history of studies about this region and a presentation of roman agronomic texts about granaries, barns and threshing floors, precede sites’ catalogue. Villas and rural settlements which have cereal’s storage or treatment areas are reported in this section, and carpological, vegetal and epigraphical records are considered, as well. The following synthesis is divided in three sections, analyzing storage areas, the impact of the ceramic containers and threshing floors that, in this region, are often associated to nearly located barns and granaries.
