Elastic Electron Scattering from Krypton at Backward Angles

Absolute differential cross sections for elastic scattering of electrons from krypton have been measured at two incident energies where discrepancies between previous measurements had been large. The magnetic angle-changing device of Read and co-workers has been used to extend the present measurements to backward angles up to 180°. The measurements reveal some differences with previous calculations at backward angles, but the resultant integral and momentum transfer cross-sections resolve some of the discrepancies with the previous measurements
