Public bar in the Bridge Hotel, corner of Victoria Road and Wellington Street, Rozelle, Sydney

A barmaid and a barman stand behind a curved linoleum-topped counter. There are also three customers in the photograph. The room has linoleum on the floor and both the bar and the walls are faced with mottled tiles. The bar's interior features mirror-backed shelves, chromed edgings and fixtures, streamlined cornices and spherical ceiling lights. Other details include a cash register, vases of flowers and a framed poster advertising Blue Bow Mineral Waters. The Bridge Hotel was purchased by Tooth & Company in January 1926. On completion of rebuilding in August 1941 the hotel was a two storeyed brick structure with a fully tiled ground floor exterior and a roof of corrugated asbestos. The architectural style is known as P. & O. Ship Style because of its similarities to ocean liner forms
