Les transformations du travail vues par un économiste : régulation, conventions ou institutions ?

Jacques-Henri Jacot Changes in Work as Seen by an Economist : Regulations, Contracts or Institutions ? Defined as the interrelation between, on the one hand, work, its content, organization and conditions and, on the other, the labor force, its qualifications, training and management, the «system of work» has undergone a crisis over the last two decades. To what extent can theories of regulation and contractualization account for the changes that have occurred ? The concepts developed by these theories restrict them to, respectively, macro-and microeconomics. Combining these two approaches also raises problems. The suggestion is made to heed, instead, American institutionalist economists. In their program of research, informal and formal institutions can be linked when analyzing the wage-earning relationship and changes in it.Le «système de travail», défini comme l' interrelation entre le travail, son contenu, son organisation, ses conditions, et la force de travail, sa qualification, sa formation et sa gestion est en crise-mutation depuis deux décennies. L'auteur s'interroge sur la capacité respective des théories de la régulation et des conventions d'en rendre compte. Les concepts forgés les cantonnent dans le macro-économique pour la première, dans le micro-économique pour la seconde. Le mixage des deux approches se révélant problématique, J.-H. Jacot propose de s 'inspirer du programme de recherche des économistes institutionnalistes américains qui permet d'articuler les institutions informelles (représentations collectives, routines...) et les institutions formelles (organisations économiques, juridiques...) dans l'analyse de la relation salariale et son évolution.Jacot Jacques-Henri.
