This paper tries to give territorial implications of the urban public transit sector development at the Nord-Pas-de-Calais scale. The great number of local authorities, their variety, and the new institutional function of the Region justify an analysis at this geographical level. This article points out two main characteristics : firstly, the weakness of local transport authorities because of a territorial breaking up, a lack of local expertise, and a compart-mentalization of their activities ; secondly, the growth of operators influence because of their regional distribution and their technical and organizationnal capacity of innovation.Partant de deux caractéristiques majeures du secteur économique des transports urbains : la concentratio...
