Two periods of development of labour force in Poland after World War II can be distinguished. There were four main features of the development of labour resources before the seventies, ie. A high dynamics of labour force growth, professional activation of potential labour resources, shift of considerable labour resources from agriculture to other sectors. and a rapid rise of the qualifications of manpower resources. Until the seventies the economic growth of Poland was based among others on the abundance of labour force resources. One of the main objectives of the social and economic policy in that period was creating conditions for full employment.
