Migrations between a city and its surrounding rural areas : the evolution of the towns of south west France (1962-75). The effect of redistribution of migrations between cities and their surrounding rural areas is not uniform : often weak in the "cantons" where the town is situated, it becomes stronger further out. The age distribution pattern has changed over the last intercensal period (1968-1975). The migrations of young people (20-29 years) still result in a redistribution at a profit of the city. But, under 20 years and from 30 to 64 years, this redistribution shows now a slight profit for the nearest rural hinterland. In the case of the regional capital, Toulouse, this phenomenon is more intense and affects more remote areas.L'effet ...
