In the 19th century, the bulk of farmwork was still performed by human labour rather than machinery. The sowing machine was used after 1890. Until 1948, every machine was drawn by horses. The use of the tractor is the most important phase of the technological revolution. From 1955 to 1970, their number has increased more than sixtimes. The various agricultural implements used with the tractor are numerous. A more recent development is the general use of the combine. As the use of machinery became steadily more extensive, the number of Wage-earners was diminishing. But mechanization profited to some productions.
