The realization of the Channel Tunnel will certainly bring about changes in the transport geography in Western Europe, and particularly in Belgium. First this realization entirely justifies the passage of the TGV in Belgium, with stops in Brussels, Liege and Antwerp, and extensions on the Germany and the Netherlands. Then the traffic induced by the Tunnel effect must favour the development of new rapid ways (roads -railways), especially in the coastal area, victim of a traffic diversion in favour of the Tunnel.La réalisation du tunnel sous la Manche va certainement entraîner des changements dans la géographie des transports en Europe occidentale et en particulier en Belgique. Tout d'abord, cette réalisation justifie pleinement le passage du TGV en Belgique avec arrêts à Bruxelles, Liège et Anvers et prolongements en Allemagne et aux Pays-Bas. Ensuite le trafic induit par l'effet tunnel doit favoriser l'aménagement de nouvelles voies rapides (routes -lignes ferroviaires), surtout dans la région littorale, victime d'un détournement de trafic au profit du tunnel.Merenne Emile.
