A few results of microclimatic measurements (especially concerning surface roughness, vertical wind profiles and stability of the surface-near atmosphere) are presented, to characterize the potential transportation conditions of surface generated particles (with emphasis to equivalent diameters of less than 20 μm) of Saharan surfaces. The results should allow a data based-planning of systematic well-founded measurements in future.
