Le phénomène urbain dans le Viêt Nam Traditionnel

The Urban Situation in Traditional Vietnam. Vietnam, a country with a rural tradition, has, nevertheless, an urban network that goes back far into its past. From the capital of the nation, the existence of which dates from the foundation of the Viet country (Cô Loa, the capital of the prehistoric Viet nation, Hoa Lu, Thang Long, Hué), to the commercial cities (Hôi An, Pho Hién...), the cities of old Vietnam have marked the history of the country with their vitality and their diversity. But if they had experienced during the XVIth to the XVIIIth centuries a period that was favorable to their development, their poorly coordinated roles were unable to withstand the subsequent political shocks, whether of an internal or of an external origin. Still, most of them continue to have an impact on the life of their regions even as small and peaceful towns, thus playing an active role as links in the present urban network.-Le Viêt Nam, pays traditionnellement rural, a pourtant un réseau urbain très ancien. De la capitale d'Etat dont l'existence est parallèle à la formation du pays Viêt (Cô Loa, capitale de l'Etat Viêt préhistorique, Hoa Lu, Thang Long, Hué), aux cités marchandes (Hôitat An, Phô Hien. ..), les villes de l'ancien Viêt Nam ont marqué de leurs vitalité et diversité l'histoire du pays. Mais si elles avaient connu aux XVI-XVIIIe siècles une période favorable à leur développement, leurs fonctions mal coordonnées n'ont pas pu résister aux aléas politiques tant intérieurs qu'extérieurs. Cependant, la plupart continuent à marquer le paysage de leur présence même comme petit bourg paisible, jouant ainsi le rôle d'articulation du maillage urbain actuel.Langlet Quach Thanh-Tâm.
