The Lyons mint and imperial donatives are two major axes of the work of Pierre Bastien. From the hoard of Fontaine-la-Gaillarde under study, we revisit the gold coinage struck at Lyons between AD 274 and 281. For this we use the aurei of Aurelian, Tacitus and Probus that are present in the deposit, some of which are unpublished. The gold issue of Aurelian, its place in the Lyons corpus and the composition of the metal used were subjected to a detailed analysis (IRAMAT analysis).
