History and Historians from Propontis and Bithynia: Myths, Narratives, and Identities. The purpose of this paper is to study the cultural history of the Straits region, more precisely the local history and universal Greek history, some episodes of which concern the Propontis and Bithynia. After introducing the people involved, an inquiry was made about the place occupied by this field of knowledge in the intellectual history of the region. The second part is devoted to the writing of history, assigning an important part to heroes, foundations, and local populations.
