Thomas Stearns Eliot is the American poet and critic who wrote of a “mythical method” at the beginning of the twentieth century to describe the task of the best writers of the modernist period, which starts after World War I. The characteristics of this method are briefly studied here as they appear in his long poem entitled The Waste Land.
