Les poèmes 204-209 (Riese) = 195-200 (Shackleton Bailey) de l’Anthologie latine

This is a study of poems 204-209 (Riese) of the Latin Anthology, which are from the time of the Vandals: establishment of the text (very corrupt), lexical issues (several hapaxes, many rare words, which are colloquial and/or late, one passage in the Vandals’ own language), prosody (length changes), literary matter (tradition of satirical epigram). Although Latin poetry is conservative, these anonymous poems reveal, better than those of most famous authors, changes in the state of the language in the 5th and 6th centuries in Africa.Wolff Étienne.
