This paper tries to analyze, from a pragmatic point of view, the use of the diminutive derivatives in the comedy called Querolus, an anonymous work of the 5th century, including its title (although it is a verbal derivative). After the identification of the data, a comparison with the use of the diminutives in Plautus –precedent and declared source of the anonymous comedy– is made. The results of the comparison are very different for each author, and that difference gives us an additional point of view for the study of diminutives in Vulgar Latin.López Gregoris Rosario.
